Dental Assistant Salary
So, how much does a Dental Assistant make? Before committing to becoming a dental assistant and completing all the necessary training, it would be helpful to know what to expect financially. After all, if the job market is tough and the pay is low and you have huge financial debt from training, you will need to ask yourself if everything is worth the effort. Do not get me wrong, money is not everything but it sure helps!:)
What does a Dental Assistant Earn?
As with any occupation, salary will vary by geographic location. I have research the average dental asssistant salary using the Bureau of Labor Statistics and found the following information:

The above chart tells us the average wage is $16.09/hr or $33.4k/yr. If you are on the high end of the salary, you will receive $22.64/hr or $47k/yr. The following chart shows us the states with the highest employment rate for dental assistants:
